Nazca Hotel-observatory
Nazca, Peru. 2005
International competition

Flor en el desierto | a flower in the desert
From the indigenous civilizations of Nazca onE can learn how it is possible for man to live as an integral part of the nature; almost as a continuity of nature’s elements; earth, sky and water. The project is rooted on this idea, in an attempt to create an architecture that melds with the landscape, not by mimicking it, but by redefining it. The Hotel/observatory is composed of up of three skins, that close in on each other to create structural rigidity and spaces that alternate between exterior (circulation, terraces, viewpoints) and interior (rooms, common services).
